If you've been searching for a Wealthsimple promo code, you've probably noticed that every site uses a different name for what looks like the same thing. Invite code, bonus code, promo code, coupon code. It gets confusing fast, especially when some of those sites seem to be promising different deals.
Here's the short version: for new clients, they all point to the same thing.

Why it's called an invite code
The name comes from the app itself. The gift icon on the home screen opens a section called Invite friends, and that's also where you enter a code if you were referred. So plenty of people end up calling it an invite code, even though it's the same referral code everyone else is talking about.
If you signed up through a referral link instead of typing anything in, the code was attached for you automatically, and the option to enter one won't show up in the app.
What the code gets you
The current code is US0EBW. Here's what you need to do to get the bonus:
- Sign up as a new client with the code applied
- Deposit at least $100 from an external bank account within 30 days

Only one code works per account, and moving money between your own Wealthsimple accounts doesn't count as a qualifying deposit. Do coupon codes exist?
No. Wealthsimple doesn't hand out percentage-off or discount codes. If a site is listing "20% off" or "50% off" Wealthsimple codes, those offers aren't real, and the code you'll find is almost always just a repackaged referral code.

A few offers do exist alongside the referral bonus, and they work differently from a code:
